We can all relate to feelings of protracted states of overwhelm and periods of hopelessness in response to the violence, fear mongering, crudeness and immorality that characterizes this political moment.

We all can use more practice building our individual and collective potency through quiet, still awareness. I need it. You need it. We all need it.

Please arrive 10-15 min. early to give yourself plenty of time to get settled and be ready to begin at 10:00am

Limited to 20 participants. Email amira@sacredreststop.org to reserve your spot!

Suggested donation: $0 – $10  (sliding scale available) Please note: donations support us to rent space, purchase materials and all profit goes to Austin Justice Coalition’s – Higher Learning.

con flama by Sharon Bridgforth, set in Los Angeles in the 1940s –1970s, gives a glimpse of a Black gurl’s coming of age, through Ancestral passages and her family history. The gurl’s story unfolds as she makes her way through the cultural landscape of Los Angeles on the bus.

con flama invites us to gather in a space of listening, to look at each other on the bus, and embrace an opportunity to witness the humanity in each other.

con flama inspires us to love, connect and heal each other, and urges us to establish communities of love.

Presented by Salvage Vanguard Theater. Directed by Florinda Bryant. Design by Rachel Atkinson, Chris Conard, Mary Beyer, and Jessica Gilzow. Featuring actors Adam Martínez, Mary Beyer, Semente, Dominique Cunningham, and Adwoa Danielle.
